You simply don't understand how Evolution works. First off, evolution is actually only one side of the coin. The other side of the coin is Ecology. Ecology and the environmental realities that over time changes both the landscape and themselves. Let me give you one example: Oxygen is in the air in the proportions they are in due to A) the basic elements that existed Billions of years ago, B) the proliferation of the first plants (algae) that filled the air with Oxygen (at that time O2 was a poison and actually killed off many species of bacteria) followed by C) a new set of bacteria that work in a feedback-loop that keeps the O2 level between 12-13%. This process took Millions of years. The landscape changes, the evidence is lost underneath the ground and oceans.... As we learn more, the how this all happened questions get answered without the need to resort to Metaphysical beliefs in Mystical Beings. Its called being rational.
you're entitled to your 'beliefs,' but they are really that, 'beliefs.' just be clear that it takes as much 'faith' to insist that something didn't happen or someone didn't exist as the opposite. cynicism is no more credible than gullibility if neither are informed views. and really, you have no place to claim that it's "likely that he didn't [exist]" when you are, by your own admission as a 'programmer,' out of your element, and hold a view in opposition to that of the experts in the field you have chosen to comment on. so let's be universal in our rigour, eh?no hard feelings. how's philly this time of year? i was a flyers fan growing up.
