joystiq.com — "Compared with last month's farcical PS3 launch, there were notably fewer auctioneers-in-the-making at today's Wii debut. Most people we met were genuinely looking forward to playing games with their new purchase.." Pretty much, as we all figured, the Wii sold out across Japan, and most actually wanted to keep and play the thing, not sell it.

Hm, I initially read that as "pantsless" birth and became very.. very confused, yet highly intrigued.

Most "hardcore gamers" aren't even hardcore gamers at all. It takes many times more skill to time trial through Super Mario Brothers than, say, Quake.Blood, violence, and "omgkewl factor" don't make games hardcore, folks! When are we ever going to learn from the Koreans?

I would say they are, but its a different culture. They are less retarded than us in several ways.

I also agree that you don't think about the graphics of the wii while playing. I get so into wii tennis, and its so realistic, that I don't care. And as for FPS games and such, its not like the graphics are intolerable, well at least not for me anyways. As for the thing you said about it getting old after awhile. Well, I mean, yes, consoles become old and eventually outdated. The only way to avoid that is to not buy video games.

God bless that little underdog. I hope Sony is shamed into delivering a DVD9 version of its PS3 next year. And puts rumble back in the controllers, while I'm at it.

*amended for the mentally challenged*I actually do find myself looking at the quality of the graphics. ;)

Look, I'm a counter-strike player. Not one time have I sat down and played counter-strike thinking "Gee, I wish these graphics were better". The game is fun, pure fun, and that's the way games should be. That's what the Wii delivers.
