@9xnet: yep, painter's tape is a beautiful thing to the concerned car owner. on road trips i cover my foglights and turn signals with it, but don't have to do the whole front end thanks to an 80's-style leather LeBra :D

I did something similar at college last year. We individually wrapped every single item in my friend's room. Then when he got back and saw his room, we got his car.Pallet wrap is what you're after if you think of doing this.
