mdn.mainichi.jp — Jackie Chan has written on his blog, "I felt very disappointed because it was a movie I didn't appreciate and I did not like the action scenes involved." The actor said he felt the movies were too Americanized, and he only made the sequels because he was offered an "irresistible" amount of money to do it.

I'm sure if Bruce Willis, an "action comedy" actor, finds himself starring in a chinese comedy movie, he'll be as bored and as confused.

A means to an end. The money was good, and it would finance the smaller projects he prefers.

Well..I thought the studio did a great job with the first two..but it seemed like the third one was just a movie made to cash in and suck the life out of Rush Hour...ahh well...what are you gonna do?

Definitely not a sellout. He's a human being.Besides, as the article says he's still doing what he loves, he just uses the large sums of money he makes off the shanghai noons and the rush hours et al. to finance projects back home that appeal to him. It's really like the late Steve Irwin. Our ol' croc hunter made millions and put most of it back into buying up land for wild life preserves, which was something he loved.

Yeah, but you just admitted to liking the second one, so your judgment on this is worthless.

I love Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker simply cracks me up. I don't think these movies did either one of them any justice. They are both better than what is being depicted of them in the films. Too cheesy. Sadly, the American audience can really lack the stomach for substance at times. I do have a wee bit of first hand experience as an American. Just keep the action coming, let's not get too deep. Jackie Chan, being a true martial artist and physical comedic genius, just couldn't hold it in any longer I suppose. True, these "Rush Hour" films are pale in comparison to his other works. Yet, that didn't stop him from making, "Rush Hour 3". The money this series makes is nothing to shake a stick at.
