You also willing to catch whatever diseases that they had? Also keep in mind that a ninethenth century one pound note is worth a fortune now. No, I'd probably use the time machine to go back in time and terrorise people with modern weapons, get some artefacts, come back to the present, sell the artefacts, THEN I'd go get some clean prostitutes. Preferably blonde with big t**s.
Unfortunately the CSI - Miami's have given us a bad image of forensic science. It's not possible to get DNA off of everything. If there isn't a sufficient quantity of a sample we can't do anything. Also I imagine Jack/Jill the ripper probably aren't registered in any database so the best you could get out of DNA evidence would be a gender. I imagine someone researching the case has probably already thought about/tried searching for DNA evidence.
"In 2002, crime novelist Patricia Cornwell, in Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper - Case Closed, presented her theory that Sickert was responsible for the murders, one of the motivating factors being a defect in his penis."Well no frick'in wonder! Nothing like a penis defect to make you a serial killer.
I very much doubt the ripper was a women. The brute force used on the victims was far too intense. Many women would have been working in the house doing their chores, they wouldn't have had a proper education around the Victorian era and the ripper was certainly educated.

Seems like every couple of years a news story bubbles up carrying a new theory or revelation about Jack the Ripper. It's getting old.
