Normally I would agree that setting up a torrent index does not make you an accessory. However when you setup a section of your website specifically called "TV Shows" and then have subsections all specifically designated to replicate and distribute copyrighted content, it's kinda hard not to have knowledge that a crime is being or will be committed.I'm sorry but the arrogance of The Pirate Bay and it's users is what is numbering it's days. Not to worry however; there are plenty of other torrent indexes that are smart enough to protect themselves.
Man I wish smugness and arrogance WERE imprisonable offences. That'd be most of DIGG gone.As noted, they merely provide small files pointing to where to find stuff. Just like Budweiser make a drink that when abused can lead to death, either of the person imbibing it, or the poor unfortunate soul driving the car in the other direction. I'm sorry, but this backward ass notion of "intellectual property" and how torrent sites pertain to it needs to die. You've all been brainwashed to believe something that you wouldn't believe in other case. Should Budweiser be prosecuted? Should banks be prosecuted? After all they provide money which can be used for illegal activities and be used to buy drugs for example. Get your head out of your ass and look around the world and realise that not everything is so black and f**king white.
I'm not a media conglomerate or a big corporation, just one guy trying to earn a meager living doing what I love: making games. Any piracy hurts me big-time, and I hope these guys get the maximum penalty.
If it's them they deserve it for deleting links to my blog over and over while ignoring porn spam, hate speech, mindless jabber, and strangely even allowing links to competing torrent sites. They need to learn what consistent and fair means.

What is stolen is the content producer's ability to sell another song or album.

The writer of the article needs a spell check: "The Pirte Bay" (close to the end).

You're wrong. Look up the words, and see that indict has a specific meaning.
