Trust me -- the women I know don't like it either. It's poorly written tripe and she should have re-written it or just left it out. The children's names were ridiculous and she didn't answer questions like what anyone (besides Neville) was doing for a living. She just said who got married -- rather hard to believe, in my humble opinion -- and what they called their offspring. She also left out interesting supporting characters like Luna Lovegood, George Weasley, Dean Thomas, etc.
Why couldn't Harry just stab himself with Gryfindor's sword or a basilisk's fang, or jump in the Fiend Fyre to destroy the piece of Voldemort's soul that was in him?
If you have to kill the previous owner to be the master of the Wand, then Draco would never have been the Wand's master because Snape killed Dumbledore, not Draco.
the book explains that you don't have to kill the person. the wand recognizes a new master. so when Draco disarmed Dumbledore the wand recognized Draco as the new master. this is mentioned in the discussion that harry has with Dumbledors portrait in the end.
Ms. Rowling, I have a question. What happened to Harry's family? I mean, they never mention his grandparents. Why did he have to live with the Dursleys? Why couldn't he live with his dad's parents or his mom's. If he had to live with a blood relative of his mom, why not her parents? They couldn't be so old they'd died of old age already.
I have a question for Ms. Rowling. If the ministry of magic found out that Hagrid was innocent of releasing the beast in the chamber of secrets then why isn't he allowed to get a new wand?
