If anything it's the ADULTS that fill these poor kids heads up with so much religious nonsense and teach them blind hatred and intolerance... making children ready for war! I find it very scary. In ten to fifteen years from now we will be witnessing a Christian Jihad like nothing our country could ever imagine. They are not even pledging alliance to the American flag...they are Christian jihadists in the making.Brainwashing young Americans to divide this country between those who claim to love Jesus and those who do not is child abuse in it's purest form. Teaching children to prepare for war in our country against other Americans is a very dangerous thing. The mere question being asked to these children - "are you willing to die for Jesus?" can only lead to disaster in years to come.
i will watch the movie when it comes to town, but i am sure i will be cringing all the way through. i hope it will give some slack to jesus followers who dont two the republican right wing line - and there are many of them
I come from a similar background as yours. And I can say that I am embarrassed for Christians, bec. this movie seems to make blanket, extreme statements about "evangelicals". I pity those who shun / label Christians without getting to know them first. This movie is so extreme that obviously it SHOULD be taken lightly. Don't let these kind of Christians make you even the least bit nervous about America's future.
As a former Christian, I hate it when my past comes back and punches me right in the balls. I feel so spooky right now it hurts. The most amazing thing is that I believe this movie will justify BOTH sides. There will be Christians who will feel proud watching this movie . . .
It appears that you don't understand the movie at all. The movie is bringing attention to the victimization of children and doesn't victimize them any more than any other film. I suggest you adopt a simple to remember process for further comments.1 STOP, 2 READ/WATCH/BOTH, 3 THINK, 4 UNDERSTAND, 5 POST if you have trouble with any one step I suggest you save yourself the embarrassment and just not say anything. Good luck with the thinking thing.
Since when does welcoming involve a camp designed to teach you the "truth"? Since when does "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." imply that you should actively tell children what to do? It says let them come not push them along. Belief is fine but forcing your beliefs on others is wrong, children should be moderately exposed to religion until they are old enough to make up their own minds without being brainwashed. Finally lets face facts. Watch the second trailer. This isn't about a summer camp this is about a brainwashing camp to train Christian children the way Islamic terrorists are trained the woman who runs the camps says it straight out.
How does some flag represent the "Christian nation"? Who created this flag? And if anything, shoulding a "nation under god" be a nation that has more to do with Christianity than America?
Even though, as the past has shown, extremists (even in chrisitanity) can lead to some devistating results, such as the KKK or even the Nazi's. They bend and twist the words of the bible and interpret in terrible ways which can lead to the death of many innocent people. These are extreme examples, but there are extremists in all religions.
I just saw the doc "Jesus Camp" and am astonished at the blatant idolatry of these "evangelicals" such as seen in the Jesus Camp...i don't mean the children...i mean the adults who bring a cardboard cutout of George Bush and stand it up before the altar for the children to worship. it is deeply ingrained in me from my early days in christian culture that commandment that states "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" nor shall we prepare "graven images" and put them up to worship. what is the matter with these people? i will tell you my gut opinion...the woman leading the camp, in my opinion, is a demon. Not "like" a demon, but is, in fact a demon. case in point: the mumbo jumbo babble she encourages as some kind of "god talk"...this is pure mockery and vulgarization of the true spirituality of speaking in tongues (i had a great aunt who did so, not because she chose to or decided to but because it was her gift), this jesus camp "minister" vulgarizes the gift by assuming she can just pretend and get every one else to pretend. but then, what would you expect from a demon? respect? nah! furthermore, she is, in my opinion, the kind of hippocrite Jesus himself spoke of in his ministry, when asked, teacher how should we pray, he answered, in private, in secrecy, NOT like the hippocrites who blatt forth and trumpet their "prayers" and so-called piety on the street corneres...in my opinion, this "jesus camp" way is fostering that kind of loud, vulgar hippocrisy. More hippocrisy in critizing people who aren't in the Jesus Camp, for being fat and lazy and sitting around...well, one wonders, how such a fervent activist as this could have remained as fat and corpulent as she is. This doc also gave me a feeling of nausea watching the adult camp leaders abuse children; the leader even took a video of the children's suffering home to her sparse and lonely apartment to "get off" on watching them suffer in fear of not conforming and being singled out as sinners. how much different is this from other adults who get their rocks off watching videos of children being abused and molested in other ways. in my opinion, the Jesus camp method is a form of child abuse and molestation...spiritual abuse and molestation. So, to sum up, in my opinion, the philosophy and practice put forward in the "jesus camp" is blasphemous, idolatrous, abusive, molesting demonology.
