I've never felt any animosity towards the Italian team before... until today. Italy isn't a stranger to degrading acts: Spitting and elbowing people in faces. From what I know and see from Italy, I can conclude that they try to intimidate teams under the referee's nose. Spitting, elbowing, and grabbing are degrading acts, but they take a split-second to do it, and the refs won't see it. So why not do it? Right? Once someone from the opposing team finally gets over the tipping point, vengeance won't be in a subtle way, but rather in a physical burst of anger that results in penalties. For the good of the team, right? After watching this clip, it's obvious that the Italian player pinches Zidane's nipple and says something to provoke Zidane... that's disrespect. Did you see the France-Brazil game? The Brazilians gave space to Zidane as a sign of respect, which is obviously negative for Brazil's game plan. But they still did it. The world's soccer powerhouse risked and lost national glory in order to respect a single player. It's like what the Nike commercial says, Joga Bonito. Play beautiful. But from that clip, I didn't see much of it.

statistically over 1 billion people world wide were watching the game and this was posted as a digg article... let alone dugg over 590 times. thanks for the update on the game outcome, but this is hardly news. i liked the old digg where the articles submitted where almost all worth while.

whatever the Italian guy said must have really pissed him off. Gotta hand it to him though ... he is the only Frenchman that has ever stood up for himself ... any normal Frenchman would have just surrendered right then and there and handed the Italians the cup ...

First of all let me say i'm brazilian.Zidane is an example to be followed, mostly by the Brazilian soccer team. He was the one that played beaultifully and not Ronaldo or Ronaldinho Gaucho. I'm Brazilian, but i was hoping that they would lose badly. Why? Well first, the team is mostly composed by dinossaurs and mercenaries, two, our little president would love to capitalize on their victory, three: the world cup is like the people's opium. suddenly all the country's problems go away, and we are the best of the world. BS. Wake up.Also i find ironic that coach Parreira (Brazil) said that there`s no room for beautifull soccer on the world cup, that the best soccer is the one that gives you results. And he lost for the beautifull soccer of Zidane. On a side note: that Shakira show was ridiculous for god's sake.

It depends on whether you're using British or American grammar. The verb form with respect to group entities differs.

Zidane is a disgrace to himself and the French children who are going to now grow up learning about Le Tetebout...< or in a very nasty American French accent, "Laya Heado-bute".I'm so glad Italy won, they deserved it...

"I know that italian players are looked to as "diving drama queens""It looked like half the players on EVERY team were dive-artists. Made me think of every NBA game I have ever seen. I loved watching, but the players ought to concentrate less hard on drawing fouls and just play.

That guy totally had it coming:http://tinyurl.com/fequ4It basically says that he called Zidane a "dirty terrorist". And a group called SOS Racismo is asking FIFA to investigate the matter.
