The Republic of Texas is the only state to have joined the Union by treaty, and as such retains, at least in theory, much of it's sovereignty. A vote in the Republic Legislature can nullify the treaty, making it the only state with a legal right to secede (also in theory only). You are, by legal definition, a citizen of the Republic of Texas first, and of the United States second, Making you a Texan then an American, in that order. No it's not. In the new world they don't use the second person plural ("vosotros") conjugation. Also many words are different, not just between the old and new world but also between spanish-speaking countries in general.
