climatebiz.com— If climate change is the greatest threat facing mankind, what are the odds of the big environmental groups rethinking their longstanding opposition to nuclear power?

I agree. I don't understand why people think that big environmental groups are any better intentioned or informed than the big businesses they adamantly oppose. In my experience it is individuals and local communities that create the catalysts of change, even as a contribution to an over-arching goal. Conglomerated directives rarely, if ever actually serve their intended interests.Plus, the enviro-fruitcakes are just pissed off and too inarticulate to do anything about it - so they tow the company line.
Dropping nuclear waste in a trench or shooting it into the sun is never going to happen because nuclear waste is a valuable fuel source. The only reason it is not reprocessed and reused as fuel now is because it's against the law.We know how to reuse the waste until there is almost no waste left. At that point the leftover waste is short lived and easily disposed of.There is no business that is going to throw away a valuable resource if they know that a stroke of a pen could instantly make it a fresh valuable resource.
Look, you and I know the danger from the radiation is basically nothing, but if you ask the average anti-nuke, they'll say the issue is that the fuel and waste are radioactive and dangerous. I would consider that the primary issue.

Environmentalism, when taken to extremes is just like fundamental religion. To some, it may even BE a new religion. The worship of Gaia.

nuclear is really the only viable option. everything else is too dirty or expensive to implement. just my 2 cents.see below:http://boldpoll.com/tradeshows/category/trade-show ...
