kotaku.com — Let's get this out of the way: Wii Fit does work. Why wouldn't it? It's based on time-trued exercises. Stuff like doing sit-ups, push-ups and jogging. Well, jogging in place. But, to what extend does it work? For the past month, I've used Wii Fit on nearly a daily basis. Wii Fit isn't something you can review in 8 or time hours of play. You need we

Read this page http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/issa72.htm and if you don't believe that one google about spot reducing. You can not spot reduce fat your body decides where it gets its energy from and just because you are doing crunches doesn't mean it is taking it from your abs. So if you don't want to read the page I'll sum it up You can't spot reduce.

You are a very optimistic person. I believe they caught 90% of the errors already.

How bout you go f**k yourself? If I could workout at a gym I would. Not everyone has the energy and will power to do it jackass.

A contract? I've never signed a contract for any gym I've ever been to.

It's written by a jackass who's given up on his native language of English for Japanese. He's apparently quickly forgetting his English.

"I really don't get this." Then don't buy it."but why not just incorporate some sit-ups/push-ups into your day, and even some jogging in place?" The people who know to do this *don't* need the Wii Fit. Wait. Let me rephrase. *NOBODY* needs the Wii Fit. It is an appealing idea because it adds an element of gaming fun to the mix.Sure, you can do these same exercises anywhere, with little to no gear. Maybe people just feel like having a single machine that can guide an exercise routine and track their progress, with cutesy little graphics that can't offend them (except, apparently, a few parents that got angry the Wii Fit called their kids fat :)) by leering or staring at them as they exercise.I'll tell you this -- I am not horribly out of shape (+20 pounds or so over my "ideal" weight for my height) but even *I* am uncomfortable exercising out in public in front of people. At home (in private), there's less motivation. Throw a game in the mix and snag some exercise along the way, and it's more likely to work. It's totally a gimmick. But it's a fun one :)

It definitely has a noticeable benefit. I've been using it for about two weeks now, and after altering my diet to consume less carbs and fat, I've lost about 10 pounds already.Back in high school, I did track and field, cross country, and lifted weights regularly. Over time, I became lazy. Since my training days, I haven't lost a lot of muscle mass because I've never deprived myself of food. Once my wife got pregnant, I gained about 50 pounds. That's when I started noticing that I was gaining dead weight.Because of my muscle mass, the game does consider me obese, with a BMI of about 32. However, since the birth of my son and using the Wii Fit, I lost about 10 pounds in about a week by doing the exercises everyday and altering my eating habits. It's starting to get me back into an active lifestyle, as I find myself going to the pool more often. It's a great way to get yourself back into exercising again.

Hey man, I'm in a similar spot that you were. I also got a Wii with my tax rebate, and I did gain a ton of weight when my girl got pregnant. What the product has done for me though, is it has gotten me back to a more active lifestyle.
