nytimes.com — The wealthy don’t generally speak publicly about their finances, in good times or bad. It’s in poor taste, for one. Ironically I wrote that I was thinking of someone that I know that inherited their money.

"One of her clients recently confessed that his net worth had decreased to $8 million from more than $20 million, and he thinks that his wife will leave him. He has hidden their fall in fortune by taking on debt to pay for her extravagant clothes and vacations."If appearances really mean that much to you, you already have nothing to live for.

The rich hoard their money. That's why they're rich in the first place.

Shut up about what? the bulls**t that is the oil industry? No f**king way. Trickle down economics, my ass! The American economy is turning into a giant vacuum that sucks money into the accounts of the super rich. I agree with your points about the media. You're fortunate to be in a position where gas prices don't affect you. You're not in a position to think that you know others' situations. Get a second job to be able to pay for gas? Sure, it may be necessary, but it's ridiculous.
