huffingtonpost.com — "War critics can no longer credibly argue that we are losing in Iraq, so now they argue the war costs too much." President Bush March 19, 2008. Read that again. He's saying it today, the fifth anniversary of a war that in his own words means we were losing four out of those five years.

Soo... how's that political reconciliation going? Here's a picture of Ahmadinejad shaking hands with Talabi in Baghdad earlier this month.http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/80080585.jpg?v=1&c= ... His tour was scheduled, unlike our officials unannounced visits. That "winning" the war?

Oh, okay. It wasn't unfunny, but there are folks who'll say that kind of thing semiseriously. (e.g.: "Gee, if they didn't want to be orphans they shouldn't have decided to stop their parents from being terrorists!!!1one")

Ignorance? Read Lincoln's speeches, or even why the war started. It wasn't about freeing the slaves. I would say most people accept this idea today. Saying the civil war was about slavery is like saying the Patriot Act keeps us safe from terrorists.

He's not crazy - that takes intelligence. Bush is just dumb; he's borderline autistic. He just doesn't know any better. The cup of stupidity runeth over in the Bush family.Money can buy just about anything but a brain.

I agree as far as how history judges wars, if this one doesn't lose too much ground you would have something to tsand on. However, in those past wars, one thing was certain, our economy did not suffer for it. While the people of lands in other wars where we have liberated have suffered some for it, the people of Iraq are suffering greatly.. the women who have fled to Syria are becoming prostitutes by the thousands http://www.nospintalk.com/content/view/39/1/1.2 million alone fled to Syria, that's what 5% of the entire population? We are burying ourselves in a debt we will be lucky to ever escape from while in many past wars, we have been owed money at the end, this one will last for years to come under GOP rule and will cost us so much that China will basically be able to foreclose on us by 2012.
