the UK version is cool but the only reason I even know of the american version is because of the cast. Steve Carell is amazing.

"The Office is one of the best shows on TV now, and it's the only sitcom I watch regularly. And being from Scranton, PA, I like the local references in the show. Although having Tim Meadows play a Lackawanna County official really strained the suspension of disbelief."Couldn't agree with you more. From Scranton myself and I love all the inside references. Ever notice some of the SWB Red Barons stuff Jim or Dwight(I can't remember which) has on their desk?

Although I still think the U.K. version is better, I have to hand it to Steve Carell at the golden globes. He had the best thank you speach. Even the cast of lost was quoting him when they received their award.

I tried to download the American version via torrents and ended up with the British version. Couln't have been happier. I am constantly disappointed every week when I tune into NBC. Being an American, I would have to agree that this is MASSIVELY dumbed down compared to the British version. Don't stop rockin' David Brent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
