ismobilemeup.com— Apple's MobileMe service seems to be having some trouble getting on it's feet. This site is a convenient way to check whether apple has it figured out yet ;-)

ya i really want the software upgrade to kick in. i know i could DL it from the link ive seen in blogs but just in case something changes id rather get it the "right way"
There's a valid reason for this slowdown on day one. Once you update to MobileMe, it changes your mail servers in Mail.app to the new ones. As a result, Mail assumes you changed your account, and immediately starts downloading and syncing and reindexing every @mac.com email. Mine is several hundred megabytes alone being resynced from the server, imagine what other people's machines are all doing at the same time. This should go away once more people finish transitioning.

I'm insanely glad that you did! It's very clever to use the MD5's, and besides I got really tired of hiting cmd+r.....Thanks buddy!
