Eh Marijuana got banned in the 30s as a knee jerk reaction to a series of yellow journalism articles. In general the accounts were made up or crimes where marijuana was falsely attributed as being the cause. The guy behind the articles was Hearst (Rupert Murdock of his era) who invested heavily into newspapers and manufacturing paper using trees. Up until that point most of the paper manufactured in the country used hemp (which is related to marijuana but lacks THC). But at that point people really couldn't distinguish between the two so they were lumped together. So getting marijuana banned pretty much destroyed most of Hearst's competitors in the paper industry.
"This is about a bunch of hippies wanting a legal way to get their fix."Alcohol prohibition didnt work either but it did manage to CREATE crime, criminals, corruption on both sides of the law and a black market.Ive smoked for 30 yrs, raised 4 kids, held jobs, ect. youre right, its about getting high too! If it was legal to grow my own, there would be no crime or black market.Try thinking before pecking away at the keys!
