memri.org— Get a load of this. The head of Iran's nuclear program says that Iran produces heavy water--for its medicinal value! That would be funny were the situation not so dire.

I know that Digg staff seemed to think this was a duplicate. Not quite. You've all seen that Iran built a heavy-water production system and brought it on-line. But you haven't yet heard the patently ridiculous excuse for an explanation that their nuclear chief offered for the existence of this plant. Read it--you'll die laughing.
Those that doubt this can you tell me your area of expertese in medical science please? I would like to see your studies proving it is not possible. Thank you.
Well, wibble, I *do* hold an MD, and not so long ago, I administered a medical laboratory. Do you think this guy is on the level about the heavy water? I never heard of that concept in any of the medical journals to which I subscribed.
Well now hold on a minute, wibble. Where are that Iranian's studies proving his point? And why are we hearing this from their nuclear chief, and not their Minister of Health?
I would like to see both studies, they claim it is infact benifical, I would absolutely be interested. Other people on here claim its not, again I would like to see those studies also.Thank you.
Hey wibble, you could always do your own (easy) research, but I know that heavy water is toxic because it can occur in plumbing systems if they're not properly constructed. No 'dead end' pipes are allowed in drinking water systems because H2O2 can form there over time. Also, recirculating hot water heating systems will create their own heavy water. But if you don't believe me, you can always go find some and drink it. If you do, be sure to get back to us with the results of your experiment. Or not, as you will be dead.
