Hitler did not fight pre-emptive wars. He fought wars to regain the lands that were "stolen" via the Versailles Treaty from Germany at the close of World War I when Germany had not lost the war. Germany quit the war while they were DUG DEEPLY IN FRANCE based upon the promises of being treated fairly at the negotiation table by U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, yet was backstabbed by the French into accepting full responsibility for the war and was forced to make reparation payments that crippled the German economy as well as the Weimar Republic that was meant to replace the warmongering administration of the Kaiser who abdicated.Since Germany was rooked, this gave Hitler and the Nazi Party support amongst the general populace of the country who probably would never have imagined supporting such a regime and its ideology had Germany not been betrayed by the hated Versailles Treaty.

Its more likely because North Korea has nukes that we don't attack them, whereas Iran does not have them (yet). We could get the Chinese to sell-out North Korea and allow us to exercise a first strike using nukes against North Korea IF AND ONLY IF we turned around and sold out Taiwan to the Chinese. Since we won't sell out Taiwan, China won't sell-out North Korea.Japan does not really care either way because if South Korea or Taiwan were obliterated, they would lose two of their largest economic competitors much to the benefit of Japanese industry and corporate interests.

@Enitime & MattsThanks for the links first of all.Back to the original discussion: I asked why N. Korea shouldn't have nuclear weapons, considering that the US, the only country to ever use nuclear weapons, is allowed - your answer was: "Because they signed a treaty saying they wouldn't".Well the fact that the NDP treaty allows for the US to have nuclear weapons, and says that it is illegal for N. Korea, is nothing more than a piece of paper. If you look through history, I'm quite sure you can find many examples of treaties being broken - something the US has done time and time again. First one that springs to mind, is the treatment of POWs at Guantamo, and failure to provide them with their basic rights. (And no, there is no such thing as "Illegal Combatants" - it's a fictional term.)My statement is: There is no evidence that N. Korea is any less suited to have nuclear weapons, than the US - and in order to convince me there has to be arguments better than: "Oh, well they said they wouldn't, and now they are doing it anyway!"In my opinion, no country in the world is responsible enough to have nuclear arms - and I don't see why the US should play the role of Judge Dredd in our global society.
