google.com — Iran has blocked access to Facebook ahead of June presidential polls, to prevent supporters of the leading opposition candidate from using the site for his campaign. The decision came from the Ministry of communication and access to the Facebook site was prohibited to all users in Iran.

Also here is some info about the fundamental attribution error: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_attributi ...If I take up a position arguing in favor of something, it makes you think that I genuinely support it, when in reality I may just be trying explore an alternative viewpoint. Didn't you guys say that all viewpoints should be analyzed?

No, why? Israel doesn't block facebook and has democratic elections.

Most Iranians don't even have the internet period so what does it matter either way.

I don't think anybody here assumed that you genuinely support censorship. I never once mentioned your personal opinions about Iran, just what you stated in your argument. The fact remains that censoring information and ideas is never, in any way good. It never promotes human rights or democracy. Again, the comments about Israeligirl are irrelevant. Let the article stand by itself, if you're going to argue about the article. Finally, I don't think your last point, about "I may just be trying to explore an alternative viewpoint" was directed at me, but I'll address it, anyway. I said that I appreciate your input, and that your comment was well done. I have analyzed and considered all viewpoints (to the best of my ability). I read and considered what you had to say, and replied to it with my own analysis. Analyzing and considering all viewpoints does not mean accepting and believing all viewpoints.
