krusade, you're full of horses**t.Read a little history on the prior revolution before you open your mouth. The American left was optimistic because the youth back then were liberal and democratic. Yet they still were attached to their Islamic roots. Just like the youth of today. Once they installed their theocracy, the American left had to face the hard reality that they WERE DEAD f**kING WRONG. They were 100% certain Iran would turn into a democratic utopia in the middle east. This whole democracy thing isn't new. You act like you were born yesterday."they want the ayatolah removed from power."No they don't you stupid f**k. That's not what the vote was about and it's not what the people want AT ALL. The fact that they voted and legitimized Khamenei's power is proof they want no such thing. They want an honest theocracy that has a democratic element. They aren't shouting "give me liberty or give me death" they are shouting "God is Great".
I feel bad for MJ's family, I really do. But that doesn't mean people should forget the rest of the world suddenly. The Iranian people still need support. People are being driven into the ground and having their rights stripped away, its not a joke. The least anyone could do is spread this story, let people know. While the U.S. is understandably careful with what they do due to previous relations, that doesn't mean we can't help.

I'm afraid their government will win this war of attrition through brute force and unimaginable cruelty.
