9to5mac.com — Recently a team of programmers led by Elan Feingold decided that maybe an OSX version of the XBMC might have a market..as he puts it, "it seems like it's a confluence of people who like the best OS coupled with people who like the best media center".

XBMC is made of pure awesome. I heard Chuck Norris was the main coder.

the potential i see here is that both XBMC addons and apple widgets are somewhat similar (both can use python) so porting those things could be done without too much of a headache!

Linux and Mac are pretty similar so it should not to work on both the same time. And I bet most of the work is going to be in openGL which should be the same on both os.

My 360 just got shipped off a few days ago for repair. I went ahead and hooked up the old Xbox and updated to a newer build of XBMC. I can't believe how great it has gotten. It has always been an awesome app, but there are some great new features compared to what was out a few years ago. I'm glad that this thing is being ported to other platforms so that people without modded Xboxes can have a chance to try it out.

i like front row.... but i use it on my Mac in my room, as opposed to a living room where i would have an xbox if i owned one. honestly i use it more to play music from bed then to control video, but for that it's great. otherwise i could not read the text from across the room.
