I guess for me that because of all the spyware/adware/hijacks/trojans that I have removed from other peoples computers, anything IE leaves an extremely bad taste in my mouth.
Personally, I like middle mouse clicking to open the link in a new tab. It feels right to me. I wouldn't want it to be default. Here's why. I would open websites that I read frequently. One of these is Digg. I then go through and middle click each link I want to read. This means that my one session of Firefox is dedicated to Digg articles. I have another Firefox open for a forum I read. The same applies here, go through and middle click links to "queue" them up to read. How do you open new tabs?
