violentacres.com — I?d work my primary job from 7am-4:30pm, walk across the street to my second job and work from 5-midnight; offer to do the nightly cleaning and lock up later so that I wouldn?t finish until 2 in the morning or so. After that, I?d drive to the gym and sleep in my car until it opened. I?d go in and pretend to exercise for 5 minutes so I could shower

"Lending is a vital part of modern economics. People borrow money to buy stocks in volume and trade price fluctuations."Lending is a vital way of taking the piss out of honourable working people.

"There is NO public school in the United States that is bad enough to not permit you to graduate and get accepted to a college."There are, however, environments in which millions of kids are currently being raised in, that discourage success.

@metasquaresmed students DO pay for their 4 years of undergrad and 4 years of medical school. They start receiving a stipend when they graduate with their MD and do 3 - 5 years of residency. This stipend is between $30,000 - $50,000 depending on what post graduate year they are. The debt racked up is enormous. Pharmacy school is also expensive. I just graduated with my PharmD and now owe over $100,000. Graduate school isn't cheap. Stipends are the BARE minimum and do not allow for money saving. Please do not say that "extreme" education is free and people even get a stipend. That is just silly of you.

In the netherlands me and my wife receive a wellfare check of slightly less than 1100 euro. Neither of us is considered employable and I sure as hell tried. With rent control, insurance bonus and that I probably am worth the equivalent of 1400 a month. Cost of living however is high; most americans who come here think it's about median manhattan price levels. I live in a nice apartment, have 2 dogs, fairly good food, highspeed internet, but not much else. I am pretty sure I have no alternative; like I indicated I would be dead or dying without medical insurance and wellfare. Or in prison. Lowpaying jobs start about that 1400 euro. A middle class job runs somewhere around 2000 euro, and highpaying jobs go beyond 3000 euro. Yet despite all this, and this fact is acknowledged by all americans that come over for one reason or another, the dutch economy is substantially more robust than the USeconomy. It used to be in the top ten a while ago. So strangely enough the system here is not "on the verge of collapse". Wellfare states actually work, stimulate people to contribute, and succeed in keeping people who cant keep up fed, clad and socially active. As such I can't stress enough how much the american way of doing things terrifies me. Sure, people *can* get a lot richer there, if they aren't "losers", "stupid" or "lazy". Those that succeed work their butts off and get real rich, many don't, end up in prison, in massive debt, live in trailers or simply die young. From where I am standing the US functions as it does by eating up people. So did the aztecs, for a good millenium, and they were wiped from the pages of history by a fewhundred plague-carrying immigrants. Ruthlessness and overexploitation isn't a guarantee for continued succes; it IS a guarantee for making a lot of enemies and competitors real quick.

"When we met, my wife had just graduated college and was making < $17K/year. I was making about $19K. "I rest my case.
