arstechnica.com — Trademark and copyright laws are favored tools of corporate giants who wish to silence online critics, but such tactics often backfire, as they did in the case of one man. This time, "sorry" won't be enough.

Clear Channel tried this crap and we were heading to legal proceedings prior to going to mediation and Clear Channel giving up due to my willingness to head to court and not backing down from their threat to charge me pretty much every penny I'd ever made to pay back their lawyer fees...www.clearchannelsucks.net They always back off when the media gets wind of it because they know david will always be supported before goliath would be...

Get used to it! Maybe you should have went to your local hardware store to get your fence, where the customer is always right! This is why those "anarchists" have been protesting NAFTA, the World Bank, and multinational Corporations. These companies are so big, they don't need you, and don't care about anything but their bottom line. They CAN bully you, They CAN use their lawyers, power and money to destroy your rights. They are the reason America is losing their rights. They are the ones who hire the lobbyists to change OUR countries laws. Its only going to get worse. Wake up! They are all corrupt. 90% of US media minus the Internet is run by 4 companies. Viacom, Disney, Time Warner, New Corp. You only hear what they want you to hear. Instead of crying and starting web sites, and protesting, and being worried about it. Do something about it. Become self-sufficient. Grow your own food or buy from a farmers market. Supplement your energy needs with solar and wind ( This also makes you aware of your consumption and pushes you to conserve) Buy stuff that's used. There are millions of things you can do to stop supporting this downward spiral of civilization.

As the public becomes more aware of the underhanded actions of large corporations, I believe the tides will begin to turn. Quite frankly, people might find it helpful to learn how to do these sorts of repairs and installations themselves. Maybe the answer is creating a more educated public. Being handy with tools is not a bad thing.

Sport...that's really funny. Anyway, I know trademark law. That has nothing to do with it. I'm simply speaking of this mentality of erring on the side of litigation. If you think that's a good thing, you need to take a step back and think about what you're advocating.
