Meh, the iPhone was dead to me the moment they announced that it had no Java. The new J2ME stuff looks rather good and catches up with most of the innovative stuff that hasn't yet been added to mobile Java. The benefit of this is Linux, which means you can run whatever the hell you like on it.
@GMorgan"What? Intel aren't a major computer corporation already!""Aren't" doesn't make any since, the proper word would be isn't,and you totally missed what he was sayinghowever@burn0utIntel doesn't need to be in the market for complete machines, that would only take focus away from creating processors. There are plenty of computer manufacturers out there; Intel wouldn't be anything special.
@burn0utDo you know _anything_ about the Computer Industry? Do you know what a Tiny portion of Intel's sales go into macs? Do you know the breadth and depth of Intel's technology products? Do you think this is the first PDA they've designed?Apple has (less than) 3% of the world-wide PC market. 97% is Windows (+few others). Of those PCs, 80% (to use GMorgan's number) of those PCs contain Intel CPUs. What Tiny portion of Intel's business is done with apple?
