Well I think that the Intel M chips are great for a mobile choice. But I don't know of any reason anymore to go with an Intel desktop machine over an AMD chip. And to the Apple going with intel comment, I'm sure that it came down to the mobile chip, as laptops are where things are headed for mass consumption. I'm sure that Jobs went to AMD to see what thier offers would be (having heard stories about his control issues) and that more than likely they couldn't give Steve a good enough date for a low power/temp mobile processor. I'm sure that Steve could push around AMD a bit more than he can with Intel.
Hey thedeceiver, if you read the benchmarks in my post(s) above, you'll see that overclocking isn't even necessary to make a Pentium M 2.13Ghz outperform even an FX-55 in most real world benchmarks. That's without SSE3 and higher performance memory. Imagine the possibilities.
Intel Centrino (Pentium M) notebooks don't burn your lap or kill the battery as fast as the AMD notebooks do. Other than notebooks though, I go AMD.AMD is better in general, but they're not better at each and every possible function. If you think Intel or AMD is the best in all ways, then you're just a fanboy.
