Hardly.Vastly different skill set. That does not mean a good web design not not be a good publication designer (yeah, that's the term, not PDF magazine designer). But very, very often if one is strong in one, they are weak in the other.(as an aside, that is one of the reasons (not the only one, just one) that early web design usually stank, because too many print designer were trying to apply print design rules to the web... and they just don't work like that)
HAHAHAHA no way. most so called web designer's are nothing more than programmers and flash experts. Yeah yeah you can make cool stuff happen but that doesn't make you a designer. In reality most websites out there are poorly designed (in regards to print rules).... They are just highly functional interfaces. And like haydesigner said, you can't apply print rules to web and vice versa. Two different mediums. These PDF mags have more in common with print magazines than anything found on the web. Web people usually can't do good print work and vice versa.
@franklymisterFrankly Mister, try RTFA from which I was quoting directly. The hint that I was quoting directly is that I used speech marks, like these "This Mag covers the design scene in Whales". Now, that doesn't mean that *I* used "Whales" when I should have used the word "Wales", but the ARTICLE did.I really hope that's not too difficult?BTW, Parla Inglese?
