While it may or may not work like that, it doesn't matter since this was not in a prison. This was jail. Nobody in there had even been convicted yet.Did you even read the article or watch the video?
I never got a DUI, but when I was 17 I raced my friend and narrowly avoided a head on collision because I was a retard and got in the oncoming lane to get around him. Lucky for everyone there , my friend had the good sense to slow down and let me get back in the right lane. Had he not done that, I very well could have killed others with my stupidity.Luckily it scared the crap out of me and I never did anything like that again, but that 1 mistake could have landed me either in jail or dead. At 33 now I still get chills when I look back on that day and think would could have happened, and I'm thankful for how lucky I was.I guess my point is that people do stupid things without thinking all the time (especially younger people), but that doesn't necessarily make them "bad" people, just stupid. But on the other hand, some people can be more stupid than others and not learn from the first mistake. There's good, bad, and just plain stupid people in prison, just like out in the real world.
People go to PRISON for a reason. If its just a charge or jail, its not a big deal, but prison is usually something serious. Yes they are good people, but there are also bad people there too. Many bad people.

I find it hilarious that people above are trying to explain the sarcasm to someone who was being sarcastic.
