arstechnica.com — According to a recent study, Inkjet printers are woefully wrong when they report they're out of ink, sometimes by as much as 60 percent in some designs. Even highly-efficient designs aren't close to perfect.

E-mail is great, but we have morons where I work that actually print out their e-mail to read it.

@redemptionNo, no and no... HP does not manufacture printers to print an exact number of pages then die. that is stupid. I work there. I make printheads, I know. Why were smart chips added to printers and cartridges to make them stop working? to stop refillers plain and simple. HP view re-fillers as grey market predators and go to enormous lengths to find ways to stop them. that is all, it is never about jacking the customer, HP wants repeat business, without it, there is no business.

My Canon printer is always telling me it's close to being out of ink even though I take the cartridges out and they still feel pretty heavy. Anyways, I just hit the override button on the printer and my docs come out fine.I just wait till it starts printing out blank pieces of paper. I probably got a good 300 sheets more this way than actually listening to it.

Ink jets suck, and you are a sucker if you own one. You deserve to be ripped off.
