hardgeek.net — A solar-power notebook concept by Designer- Nikola Knezevic to save computer users the trouble of charging batteries by plugging them in, the notebook is powered with the help of powerful batteries that are recharged by wide Solar Panel attached to the computer.

I guess the concept of a small solar panel on a folding stand and an extension cord is just too complicated. Let's actually build the panel right into the computer! That'll make more sense!

they'll need the solar panels built-into the back of the monitor and make it thinner or else it won't catch on. Most people are indoors with their notebooks anyhow, I doubt it'll catch on.

Buried for stupidity. Unfortunately, the designer's "skill" or "innovativeness" only extends to making nice looking pictures. In addition, many diggiots can't think far enough ahead either. Think far enough ahead about what? To consider how much power a notebook sized solar panel would generate.A wimpy laptop charger puts out 50 watts. A 9" X 12" panel could generate approximately two watts. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem. ... So at best under full solar power, the battery would still discharge with the laptop running. Or if powered off, the battery would charge very very slowly.Besides, how usable is a laptop display in a sunny place? The whole concept is lame.

I thought of this years ago!!!The only way it could be realistically implemented from a consumers point of view is if it were built into the lappy lid without any noticeable size difference to the lappy. It would only succeed in slowing the batttery drain of the lappy marginally. As soon as new longer life batteries are implemented over the coming 2 years a solar panel in a lappy will be commercially pointless and unattractive.

Whats wrong with the concept of a standard, pretty sleek black/silver laptop, with a solar panel on the back of it? These designers of 'green' products make them look so needlessly awkward and ugly thats its no surprise they don't catch onhttp://ladies.paramegsoft.com/http://game.paramegsoft.com/http://girls.paramegsoft.com/http://www.paramegsoft.com/
