thinkprogress.org — In recent days, Sen. John McCain?s (R-AZ) rhetoric toward Russia has mostly been overblown bluster, including an accusation that the country wanted to restore its old empire. However, since a cease-fire was announced and his predictions were proven wrong, McCain has backtracked, saying there won?t be a Cold War.

Yeah, Bush made that statement a week or so ago, then McCain grabbed on to that thinking it was a good statement. However, they both seem to remember that we, the U.S. invaded a sovereign nation for no reason but for its oil! what we did was much much worse than the mess between Georgia and Russia. (I am not saying that the conflict between Georgia and Russia was right or justified). When I first heard Bush, acting so appalled at the fact that Russia had entered Georgia, I almost threw up! We, as a country have no room to criticize other countries and their actions against other countries. We have lost our credibility big time. How dare Bush and McCain say that after what we have done and are doing ourselves!
