msnbc.msn.com — President Bush was presented with a letter Monday signed by 50 high school seniors in the Presidential Scholars program urging a halt to "violations of the human rights" of terror suspects held by the United States. The handwritten letter said the students "believe we have a responsibility to voice our convictions."

My god, if I was in her shoes I would say very loudly, "Thats a lie and you know it!" so EVERYONE can hear. I would put the president in the most awkward situation of his life. Looks like they are picking the wrong kids for the presidential scholars.

Maybe the others signed the letter to Al Qeada to stop beheading people.

That's a crock...They weren't there for a political reason...They were there to be honored for their scholastic achievement. As I've said elsewhere, I bet you would sing a different tune if the politician was someone you liked and the people doing this were ones you didn't.

No...I'm not setting him above all of us...But something a lot of people seem to forget here is that as President, he's entitled to some measure of respect and courtesy. He didn't have to make time to give those awards to those students. It was a "nice" thing for him to do, and he got kicked in the face for being "nice." As a result, I wouldn't be surprised if next year, he doesn't show up at the ceremony (and a bunch of students who might not agree with what their predecessors did get to suffer for it)

so 50 high school "scholars" send a letter to the President telling him he should stop the torture of those who want to kill us. of course to them torture is not letting them be free in Pakistan planning the next 9/11
