This type of civil libertarianism (being against the requirement that all salt be iodized) is part of the free market philosophy. If people are allowed to choose plain salt, then it rarely reaches the poor, which causes mental retardation. You need some type of government to regulate public health, which includes putting restrictions on businesses.
