The worst part is the fanboys apologists that will make excuses for this, like it's another "feature." I can understand being a fan of something cool, like the underdogs who are doing innovative things, or the true pioneers, or those that genuinely help mankind, but being a fan of MS!? That just seems dorky to me, like being a fan of the IRS. Oh how I love paying taxes!

Most people don't need drastically new features out of their OS every year and a half. Not to mention that when MS wants to release new features, they call them "service packs". It's not as in your face as naming another member of the cat family, but they're free. That's the point I'm making. As for @mscman, hope and pray away. Both OS alternatives are light years away from offering what DirectX delivers as well has having even an iota of worthwhile support. I'm not saying people don't support linux and apple graphics libraries, but since every Linux-fanboy-gamer out there also has a Windows machine for gaming, the game companies are not very likely to stray from where the market is. And since there is no "lack of features" as far as the gaming market is concerned, I'll much sooner get digged up for aguing on behalf of MS than them losing any meaningful market share in the gaming industry :)

Um, lets see, a three year old that can use Linux? Well, my son, for one. Oh, no, wait, he's only two. sorry!

I'm having more and more doubts over Vista as time goes on. I installed the Beta on my laptop and it takes +8 seconds for text to appear after you type, or for the start menu to appear after you hit the start button (with NOTHING extra running). And my laptop is a 3ghz P4, 512mb DDR400 Ram, Radeon 9600pro 128mb video card. I didn't expect it to be screaming, but I should be able to enter my password to log in and actually see the **** appear as I type, not 10 seconds later.
