wired.com— It's not easy to buy an Apple music player in India legally. But the trade in smuggled iPods is going gangbusters.

you guys are still missing the point the poster was making. If the companies spent more, they'd get better quality support. There are schools for call center workers where they learn regional cultures and accents. Some learn to be Autralian while others learn to be Texan. They have to learn not only to speak with the correct acccent and know the culture, they also have to know local geography and current events. If you get one of these reps, you probably think you're speaking to someone more local. Why don't you get these very often, they charge more. Imagine, people charge more for better quality service. The paradox of course is that the reason many companies offshore in the first place is to spend less money. If they'd be willing to spend the same, they could see quality increase. Here in the good 'ol US, very few call center workers have more than a high school education. In India, the average call center worker is a college grad.
Let me guess: You're tired of getting funny looks from people that don't understand that your [whatever MP3 player] is NOT an iPod, right? Just don't explain it to them. Remember that you have all sorts of features that iPod owners can only dream of, and know that you are a better person.
Grow up guys, guys who are talking about out sourced call center's, it bcoz Indians are fast learners than native English speakers. Indians can learn tech or language faster and better than native English. I have personally lived with native English who have a slow learning brain. They do the same job for 10 years but still not good enough. They just speak well which is all they do. Keep chattering away.
