Yes it's all hoop jumping. That's life though. A college degree is required for the majority of good jobs. I'm not saying it's a bad thing... But I personally feel work experience in a specific field is more important than a degree in that same area. Also I believe paying tens of thousands of dollars to meet other artists is preposterous. With the internet people can connect with other artists without the insane price tag. Plust art doesn't require a degree. You will either be a naturally talented artists, which I wish I was, or you will know how to sell what you create. As for myself, I am on major number four. Each degree was something I found meaningful and wanted to seek a career in. I have always been a computer and science nerd and my majors have reflected that. When it comes to professors I think ratemyprofessor.com is a great source of information. However, I have had terrible professors be the only one teaching numerous required classes in a major. So ultimately ratemyprofessor.com is worthless. At some point in time you will get stuck with a bad professor. And finally the simple regurgitation subject. Yes, In college you are constantly asked to regurgitate information. One word, Scantron. Welcome to your lower level undergrad classes. Sure you get to express your opinions or develop well thought out responses to issues when writing a paper, but, I am willing to bet those multiple choice tests are going to have a greater impact on your final grade than any paper will. I would like to clarify that this is just my college experience. Not everyone will have the same experience.

College is actually *much* more than just another tool in your professional arsenal.

This is still better than what will happen if the ghost of postgraduate past visits you.
