If that is true (I did not recognize the intersection as being in seattle, but that means nothing) it was the same issue in Seattle at the same time. Had me chuckling all the way with schadenfreude.
When you live in areas that don't get snow you think that. Live in an area that gets snow 4-5 months solid and go into the ditch 5 or 6 times and you will take that statement back.
Summer or regular all-seasons even...you pretty much need winter tires in that situation-this is the reason why Quebec now fines anybody dumb enough to try driving without winter tires in winter. Too many morons in AWD vehicles who think AWD will help you brake or steer when your tires are about a billion times more important. The fact that the BMW stopped just fine at the end is probably because the driver of the car had put snow tires on since RWD cars can't attempt to get away with not doing so like the other cars.Seriously, if you live in a snowy area please don't be a lazy jackass-go buy snow tires. And I say this having learned this the hard way after putting off buying snow tires just long enough to skid out into an accident when I was young.
Part of driving skill is knowing what tires you have on your car and avoiding areas it can't handle. I'm pretty sure the only car with snow tires in that entire video was the BMW, whose owners probably put them on since their RWD car probably got stuck in the driveway all the time without them.I have snow tires on my car but you wouldn't believe the number of idiots (some otherwise intelligent people included) who don't realize that their AWD vehicle isn't going to be able to stop for jack sh*t in these conditions unless they also put snow tires on. And that their car will spin out trying to turn in slippery conditions because again, AWD doesn't turn your tires into snow tires.Which is why I regularly drive by 4x4s crashed into ditches on the side of the road. *sigh*

How did this video make it on digg without 30 replays, 10-15 obnoxious puns, and an announcer who takes his job way too seriously?

Yep, with a passed out drunk friend in the car and you wake them up screaming.

Oh yes, very practical to walk a few miles around the city when it is 20 outside.
