iconfactory.com — The Icon Factory, one of the great icon and pixelated design agencies, has created a fantastic five part video describing their move to web standards. Hilarious and beautiful. They're on Day 3 of 5 as of this posting. Can't wait for the next installments.

You are wrong. Very sweet pixelated action, gotta appreciate all the work into that it's unreal, er.. Amazing.

People complain about dupes because often ALL the dupes make it to the front page, so instead of seeing a nice concise list of new articles on the front page, we're forced to wade through the duplicate postings (sometimes duped 3, 4, or more times) to find the new stuff.Dupes scroll worthwhile stuff off quicker, clutter things up, and are annoying. If there's a discussion on a topic, I want to see it in on place, not scattered across 10 different duped stories.Digg doesn't like dupes either, that's why there's a rudimentary system in-place to prevent it. Ridiculously, people ignore it even when it flat-out tells them they're posting a duplicate article. Lame.

I believe these are the direct links to all the videos for those without the qt plugin and would rather watch it in MPlayer. Besides that, this is the third or so dupe this week, so no digg.<a class="user" href="http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day1-H264.mov">http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day1-H264.mov</a><a class="user" href="http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day2-H264.mov">http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day2-H264.mov</a><a class="user" href="http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day3-H264.mov">http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day3-H264.mov</a><a class="user" href="http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day4-H264.mov">http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day4-H264.mov</a><a class="user" href="http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day5-H264.mov">http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day5-H264.mov</a><a class="user" href="http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day6-H264.mov">http://iconfactory.com/graphics/Iconfactory-Day6-H264.mov</a>

The style is from the icons of Copland (Mac OS 8), which were all pixel drawn and at an isometric angle. Not the origin of pixel art, but still a big influence on many who designed for it.<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copland">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copland</a>

Not sure when eboy came on the scene, but we drew *our* first Copland icons back in 1996, so we've been dabbling in this style for a solid decade.<a class="user" href="http://www.iconfactory.com/preview.asp?type=show&id=19">http://www.iconfactory.com/preview.asp?type=show&id=19</a>
