Sorry, but you're not selling me on the idea that it's really that important. I do work on a computer all day long, and other than changing my wallpaper once or twice a year maybe, I don't see much point in changing the way it looks. Doing so is not going to help it run better (unless you're talking about some aspect of its aesthetics that is actually a useful tool, like a widget or something, but that's different).To go back to the car metaphor, making something LOOK like a Rolls Royce, or a Dodge Viper doesn't make it one. Lambo doors on a Civic, doesn't make it a V12 powered Italian supercar.I'm not saying that there's no point at all, I guess. If you have a preference for a certain look, fine, imitate it all you want. But what I'm saying is I don't understand why so much fuss is made over merely the appearance of a GUI. Again, I'm more of a German school of design type of guy - think BMW, Porsche, or Volkswagen - a form follows function type of guy.

I can't fathom why any sentient being would want to make an Ubuntu box look like a Mac, but this shows the beauty of Ubuntu and FOSS in general - You want to tweak your box, your way? Go ahead! The Redmond Mafia won't come to your house and neither will we -- With OSS, everyone gets to sing their own song. I love that.
