There's always ethical issues with health care providers dating current and even former patients. A doctor or nurse is in a position of power over their patients and their families, and it makes them extremely vulnerable. Though, this case wouldn't be a typical one.
I'm an American and I'm not going to disagree with you. 99.999% of Americans are legitimately mentally handicapped. The fact they we care about American Idol and that fat people exercising is considered good TV proves this point. On the other hand you Brit's do keep an old woman as a mascot and given the right circumstances your nation could be represented by a ginger racist. We all have our issues! ;)
