homepage.mac.com— Digg, this is the last damn straw. Now I won't be seeing ANY of your ads. Way to go. BTW - ING can go to hell.

I know that Digg needs money. The point is that how they get it is no concern of mine. If they can't come up with a business model that is more robust than stuffing ads in my face, that's their problem. I block ALL ads and don't feel the least twinge of guilt. If Digg goes away, well that's too bad.
"See, this is what truly mystifies me: who the HELL is actually clicking on ads (and presumably making it worth it for advertisers)? I mean... seriously. Who?"The same people who make spam worthwhile. The people who actually believe that their paypal account has been suspended for fraudulent use, and immediately click on the link and enter their login information to see what's wrong. The people who call up a bank they've never done business with to find out what the problem is with their account that they were just notified of by email. The people who return the iPod they just bought to Best Buy, because they just found out that they can get a free one. You hear them saying things like "Thank God I saw that ad while there was still time to return it!"
I do the opposite.Even on the very rare occasion that I see an ad that actually interests me, I don't click on it. I'll open up a new tab, google for the product, and go directly to a site where I can get more information about it. Even when the advertising is working, I do not want to contribute to the advertisers belief that it's working, nor do I want to encourage site operators to use advertising any more than they already do.Of course, even this never happens anymore. Over the past year or two ads have finally gotten obtrusive and annoying enough that I installed adblock, and no longer see any ads at all.

I usually don't mind the ads on digg, but once that ING ad started running, I immediately installed AdBlock.

As an ING employee I really can tell "ING can go to hell." is really the right thing to say.I really can't understand how they are still able to run.

I can't wait for AdBlock being available for my TV. I hate when shows are displaying text at the bottom of the screen right when the station decides to display a huge ad like this...http://forum.m7mmad.com/http://www.7rkt.at/http://www.jeddahbikers.org/
