I don't doubt that there are intelligent people in Alabama, just a generalization that I still feel holds true.I just graduated from Northeastern University this year....kind of the opposite of Alabama, in that its a private school, our sports programs are terrible (more people showed up to my high school football games than Northeastern football games), and wouldnt recommend going there unless you went for the right concentrations. I went for the co-op program, which benefits some majors more than others - being a finance major I got a full-time dream job through an internship that Harvard grads would have trouble finding.Just so you know, some negative stereotyped generalizations about the North hold true as well -- but like you said, there are always exceptions.
