The new term for today is "continuum of force", so don't use a club, use pepper spray instead. Pepper spray, while irritating as hell, generally won't cause any kind of serious injury, and is a more appropriate response for when someone won't leave you alone and is laying hands on you, but not attempting to really hurt you. Giving a beatdown with a club without *real* solid justification might very well land you in prison for attempted murder, or at the very least get you charged with aggravated assault. It might also get you shot on the spot.
impersonating a police officer is against the law, I believe...Report him , and his physical contact with you to police.Real Officers of the take a Dim view against those who would pretend to be them...
