It may be a fascinating speech, but you can't call it true until the predictions he makes come true, and for the record? Quebec is still part of Canada.

"A brilliant college professor named Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, "Mexifornia,"...."You can go read his blog at www.victorhanson.com he updates multiple times a week. His blog basically consists of articles he writes for NRO and WSJ; he just posts them on his blog, unabridged, the day they are published in the papes. You can also go back through my submitted list and digg his articles if you like. :)

Lamm is a moron, and completely misses the point. It is the welfare system that will destroy us, especially as more immigrants come here to sponge off of it. If we rid ourselves of this awful theft and redistribution system, then anybody coming to America will have to be productive. This will increase the competition in the job market, which will drive wages, and prices of good down. That is Basic Econ 101, something most American's don't have a clue, and what politicians do, but continue to make sound 'too difficult' for the Average Joe.

If you really want to destroy the United States, give credibility to bigots like this guy.

I would agree that racism is bad, and that multiculturalism isn't BAD... but allowing people to move to America and yet not consider themselves 'American' isn't so good either. I think that the problem lies in the fact that cultures keep too much of their culture and refuse to integrate into 'the great melting pot'. If I moved to Germany, I'd make a point of learning German... but a lot of ethnic groups in America feel like they're fine not learning English. Call me a racist, but you're not going anywhere if you don't at least try to learn the native language.I'm proud of my heritage (no, I'm not a WASP), but I'm first and foremost an American. Other people don't seem to think that way, and that's what this guy is talking about. The part about the fastest growing ethnic minorities being the least educated is sad, but 100% true. I would agree that it can frequently be a case of nurture over nature in that situation with them growing up in the poorest neighborhoods... but frequently the whole "Urban Culture" (that includes any race that fits into that demographic) simply don't care about education. They'll be fine because they're gonna get a record deal and buy a hummer. *idiots*

Actually, it sounds like you're pretty much assimilated (don't take that as an insult...it's not intended to be). So, you're not the kind of person the author is talking about.

You people that are condeming the mans ideas because they dont coincide with your little neck of the woods are not looking at the big picture and are the exact kind of people he describes. Luxemburg, Canada, and whatever city you live in is NOT AMERICA, nor a world super power. Playground politcs and rules, and "Everyone can live in harmony happy happy world" do not apply to the giant that is America. If you can't see that unity is a stronger virtue then diversity then you obviously know nothing of history. And the idiot comparing biological diversity to racial and social diversity is a moron. I am not an eloquent man but I am grateful there are some people out there that are and can express my views better then I can, this man is on of them.

America works because it has been a great melting pot. Multiculturalism promotes separatism as can be seen in California with the radical Mexican movement. I lived in Calif for years and the Mexican population was very integrated into the American way of life during my years in the San Diego area. I feel that the new influx of Mexicans that are not being encouraged to learn English are creating a very divisive atmosphere and should not be encouraged.
