torrentfreak.com — A court in Belgium ruled that ISPs can be forced, and are obliged to, either block or filter copyright infringing content on P2P networks. Freedom of expression and privacy are not important in this regard. How exactly ISPs are supposed to block and filter copyrighted content remains a mystery.

Yeah that was ridiculous. Of course I realize the DMCA doesn't apply outside the US; no American law applies outside its jurisdiction. All I was saying was that the DMCA was enacted to shield ISP's from liability for copyright infringement by providing any ISP (traditional ISPs and websites included) "safe harbor." I was simply stating that this could not happen in America, unlike Beligum. So, yes PJBonoVox, you're right, I was talking about America, not Belgium. But there's no need for your abrasive anti-americanism.

Maybe YOU deserve to browse some publicly available knowledge on perfectly legal P2P sites. This may pull you out of your obvious ignorance on the matter.

Maybe they just need to paint the big truck a different color if you are dumping copyrighted files onto it.

The ruling by the Belgian court implements EU legislation, and iaccording to the IFPI, it sets an important precedent in the fight against piracy internationally.<a class="user" href="http://www.shpe-sac.org">http://www.shpe-sac.org</a><a class="user" href="http://www.ocflex.com/">http://www.ocflex.com/</a> <a class="user" href="http://www.trgovinca.org">http://www.trgovinca.org</a><a class="user" href="http://www.chasr.org/">http://www.chasr.org/</a>

If I connect through an encrypted VPN tunnel, my traffic on the net will appear to originate from wherever the VPN connects to the public internet, not my location. My ISP can only see the connection between my pc and the VPN service, but they cannot possibly even begin to guess at the contents of the traffic.
