gizmodo.com — I have tried the iTunes 7.7 confidential pre-release which will be required to install the new iPhone OS, and the latest iPhone OS 2.0 release. After a few days of heavy use, I can tell you that both versions are rock-solid. As you can see in the video, the App Store is there -although it's not active yet- along with the new Push data feature

This article and video is about the iPhone FIRMWARE 2.0. While it will be standard on the 3G iPhone and released at the same time, it will also be available on the original iPhone for free, and on the iPod touch (for $9.99).In other words, Gizmodo is not calling the 3G iPhone "2.0", they're talking about the new firmware.

Just about anyone that can get some type of mobile web can also send and receive email through it. MMS is simply an option that is available. If you have a data plan on any other cell phone you do not need to pay for each email you send. E-mail and MMS are totally separate from each other. It's an available service for those who are willing to pay for it. If someone believes it is not worth it they can simply use their data plan, which is also available on other phones, to send an email. I dont see bashing MMS as any more useful than bashing email because we can send a Voicemail instead, which would not require a data plan. I may not need MMS but I like to have the option."The MMS servers (MMSCs) also had billing services built-in, which is great for the provider but not for you. "What if I send less than x amount of MMS in a month and that costs less than a data plan, which every other phone does not require you to have? Then it's great for me.

Will we finally be able to create a playlist and name that playlist? I mean, the iphone and the ipod touch have little virtual keyboards, it seems like a no-brainer to be able to create and name playlists without having to do it in itunes. I got an ipod touch and I was surprised that I could only create an on-the-go playlist just like the old ipods (though it is still a bit more cool).
