cinematical.com — As of today the IMDb has a search filter that makes it difficult to locate some titles, specifically pornographic or otherwise sexually explicit titles. These titles include the usual XXX fare, but also include more mainstream films like John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus and Caligula, which stars Golden Globe winner Helen Mirren.

I logged into my account and went to http://www.imdb.com/find/preferencesthe adult filter preference didn't appear until I followed ArmyOfFun's link of http://www.imdb.com/find/preferences?_adult=1notice the ?_adult=1 meaning I had to have somehow known to feed that flag to the site in order to have that option. It's kinda shady in my opinion. Also, it is my opinion that a hidden preference (especially when they have my DOB to verify that I am of legal age) is as good as censorship. This new development saddens me since IMDB is one of the sites I query for information for my own personal movie database. Granted obscure titles like "Breasts of Fury 14: Cum Slut Nuns" (I made up the title but wouldn't be surprised if it actually existed) would never show up but more 'mainstream' porn titles like "Where the Boy's Aren't 17) should show up.I'm torn between burying as inaccurate because IMDB didn't screw with the database (just the filters and the search parameters) and digging it so adults know that their options for searching are limited.

laplacian...why is it up to YOU to decide the "point" of the IMDB? Isn't that up to the original creators or the current owners? It was never intended to have the thousands of internet or DVD porn movies that come out be included, yet it now does. And this article is bulls**t. The Brown Bunny and Caligula came up fine for me. As did a few asolute, 100% no other reason but for porn movies. As did many porn stars who have done nothing even close to resemblng a mainstream movie. But again...just because YOU think that you are capable of saying what the IMDB was "meant for" doesn't make your opinion on it the right one.F r example, I can say "The iPod is meant only for listening to Jim Neighbors songs." Does that mean that Apple is being wron by selling other songs?

Actually, searching for Caligula has been down for months. You can still find that movie by following through actors' filmography, but a search for it (and its translated titles) yields nothing.

I was just noticing on the film mentioned...http://imdb.com/name/nm0197602/Was an actor in that film REALLY also in "Pusher"?

I'll bet that the Parents Television Research Council, and Focus on the Family had something to do with it.
