Yes, that's why games like Red Steel have been million plus sellers, and Ubisoft says their using the profits off the Wii to support the 360 and PS3 game development.
That's stupid. Graphics are based on a system's capabilities. It's the same reason God of War for PS2 got rave reviews for its graphics when an XBOX could have done better. That wasn't the point, they were amazing for the system they were on, which is why MP3 got such a good graphics score...sheesh, some people's kids
No, it really is the next room loading. It just seems like that makes it open because by the time you step back then step forward, it's done loading the next room. That's why it does it with some doors and not with others. Also, if it really was shoddy programming, I think retro would have fixed it by now since they have released 3 prime games before this.
I honestly don't get why everyone is praising Metroid Prime 3 as the first actually good Wii game. There have been plenty of First Person shooters on the Wii that I have enjoyed. I mean, Red Steel blew my mind. Graphically and gameplay wise.

Go enjoy your Halo 3's, Battlefield's, or GTA 4's then.

Excellent multiplayer gave Halo 2 that score. Metroid prime 3 has no multiplayer so it simply doesn't have the replayability that Halo 2 does.
