For those that keep saying Dubai get's all their money from oil...you're wrong...oil accounts for like 6% of their total gdp...they get money from other places...

Osama Bin Laden destroyed the Twin Towers not because he wants to kill people, but because he wants to make the economy of America drop, to end America's atrocities in the middle east. The root of all this conflict is America's interest in Israel. The greedy American government wants Israel so they could intimidate/terrorize the surrounding oil-producing countries. To get Israel, they had to kill thousands of Palestine to drive them off their lands. Wow, America freed Iraq! IT IS THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT WHO PLACED SADDAM IN IRAQ IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Before Saddam, there was a democratic government in Iraq, but no, the American government wants a puppet government, so they removed the democratic Iraq then placed Saddam there.rnrnWe want justice to the innocent people killed by the American government. We must punish the American criminal government.

"But, ya, a guy with a stick of dynamite could like, waste the entire hotel in like, a matter of seconds."Ya think they wouldn't a thought of that? With explosives easily attainable to most people, you could waste any hotel."I choose not to celebrate this "marvel" of a structure. No digg. Spend your vast amounts on something beneficial to your entire populace, not just those who are very wealthy."Actually, it does benefit the whole populace of UAE. This is because their supply of oil will run out soon, so the government is trying to turn the nation into a tourist destination, generating revenue for the local economy, and keeping the coutry alive.

anagoge, you're right. It is damn cheap. It so happens that they pay their workers a pittance. Dubai and the whole gulf is known for this. Oh and they also work all through the summer in 50 degree heat. See this page - http://www.mafiwasta.com/ - for what some people are trying to do about it...

This is cool...rnrnHowever beneath the sparking paradise, a place that at first looks very clean. There lies dirt, exploitation, and slavery.rnrnReally that what this place is all about.

What dumb asses, Dubai != any US city, it is far beyond the trashy , unclean, poor drenched streets of NYC. Sure NYC may be the capitol of the world but possibly not for long. So f**king what if they have oil money, they aren't exploiting their money on a useless war. And on that oil money, most of their $$ comes from tourism, so get your math straight. rnOne thing i learned about living in another country then moving to the US is that everyone here is so single minded. Open your eyes, when was the last time you saw an underwater hotel? Dugg to death.

Why are you people negative? is this a sign on jealousy or what? I say this is one challenging project and would wish nothing for it but success because this will not just boost the tourism and economy it would provide more jobs to the people, it would attract investors, would give a push to the engineers/ architects and designers all around the world, not to mention the advanced technology. now 300 million might sound fishy but i haven't read the facts and procedures yet so its not impossible to have a budget like that. thats if it is the real deal.anyways about terrorism.. hmm i don't know why people assume Islam or Arabs to be terrorists. I think the only terrorists that would have a motive to destroy such structures would be the Israelis and the Americans. you can see some jealousy in their eyes and ofcaurse they wouldn't want the Arab world to advance and improve their economy.. emm thats something to think about, so lets hope that no bombs will be dropped on this beautiful structure. i might go and sleep with the fishes there when it's done.sorry for not writing this properly but i dint see the need to lol.. emm you all have a good one!

That Dubai complex with its artificial islands is making me,http://www.costaricapages.com/listings/travel.htm, mad. It takes away all my customers.

Cool, but I'd still rather stay at the good ol' fashion log home types - http://www.camp20cabins.com
